If you’re a baby boomer born after WW2 then you would probably remember this…
Those old enough to remember the sixties will recall the anti-war movement
that engulfed the country.
And who can forget the eighties…when leftists at home and in Europe seem to fear President Reagan more than the evil empire. There was the nuclear freeze movement.
In Vermont, there were peace marches,
During the weekend of August 6, 1981, Patty Heather-Lea walked one leg of a peace march from Washington to Moscow. That’s Washington, Vt., to Moscow, Vt.
“I had just gotten married,” recalls Heather-Lea, who’s now 60 and a high school math teacher in Bristol. She remembers “wanting to do something, wanting somebody to wake up to what was going on in the world.” So she marched to Montpelier with a sign that read “Let’s Have a World for Our Grandchildren.”
As of March 2022, the 72-year-old Ms. Heather-Lea has never strayed from her “progressive” roots. I doubt she voiced much condemnation of the burning of American cities in 2020. I imagine she rejoiced when the Orange man when down to defeat. Now the planet would be saved, cancer would be cured, equality of outcomes achieved, the white male patriarchy suppressed.
I can only speculate what her thoughts are now. An open border, out-of-control crime, currency inflation, the rise of authoritarianism (it’s ok as long as it’s my side in charge and it’s only white male deplorable’s getting their heads cracked and thrown in jail), and closer to WW3 as at any time since the Cuban missile crisis in 1962. If the unthinkable should happen climate change will be the least of our worries. All this while living in the largest white liberal gated community in the nation. Yes, I’m referring to Vermont.
Phil Scott told reporters, “I put country over party. It’s been a bit of a struggle for me, but I ended up voting for Joe Biden.”
Sleep well, Joe, Kamala, and our “woke military” are on guard.

Vermont screams “White Privilege”
It appears that our Rino governor is one of the most popular in the nation. This same article, states that Joe Biden has a 93% approval rating among Democrats in Vermont.
How can supposedly intelligent people be this disconnected from reality?
It’s no secret that Vermont is a deep, deep, blue state. It is also one of the most secular. One of the charms of small Vermont towns and villages was the churches and their distinctive steeples. Sadly many are closed and more just hanging on with an aging congregation.
Today, many people have abandoned Judeo-Christianity in favor of cultural Marxist political ideology in which atheism is its central pillar. This transformation did not happen overnight but slowly throughout past generations via the vessel of taxpayer-funded education indoctrination.
From the demographics of Vermont, it’s obvious that Vermont is a very “white” state. It is often considered one of the safest states in the country.
It has very few restrictions to gun ownership, no permit needed for concealed carry. Of course, these laws or lack thereof predate by decades the progressive liberal playground that Vermont is today. And the libs find this somewhat embarrassing.
Perhaps it’s because scenes like this have yet to appear in the more urban areas of Vermont. Upper middle class and affluent white voters (women in particular) What’s been happening in liberal blue cesspits
around the country hasn’t quite reached Vermont…yet.
That’s one reason I think for the seemingly total disconnect and also their total acceptance of what the mainstream media tells them and if the mainstream media doesn’t report on something it’s because it doesn’t fit the leftist narrative. So don’t concern yourself with it.
But do liberal democrat Vermonters truly believe in this ideology or are they virtue-signaling hypocrites putting on a show from their safe-space white privilege neighborhoods.
So if and when real political (criminal) violence comes to white privileged Vermont will law and order prevail?
Or since all white people are racist are we just getting what we deserve.
Or is liberalism a mental illness? especially when it comes to women.
Progressive Logic
If we just defund (abolish) the police there will be no more crimanals.
What would abolishing police mean as a practical policy matter? Nothing very practical. In The Nation, Mychal Denzel Smith argues that police should be replaced by “full social, economic, and political equality.” Harris-Talley, meantime, has traced policing’s origins back to slavery. “How do you reform an institution that from its inception was made to control, maim, condemn, and kill people?” she asks. “Reform it back to what?” If cities can eliminate poverty through affordable housing and “investing in community,” she believes, the police will become unnecessary. Others argue that cities must simply “help people resolve conflicts through peace circles and restorative justice programs.”
All you need is Marx. Marx is all you need.
Indeed, Marxist theory essentially posits that crime will always be a major issue in capitalist systems, and the need for individuals to commit crime will only subside with the establishment of a socialist system in which the “profit motive would be eliminated, [and] concern for the general social welfare would dominate over selfish privilege and competitiveness,” (Akers & Sellers, 2009; 252). Without this competition driving the need for wealth and success, criminal activity would be reduced to more negligible amounts. If crime results from the labor conditions of capitalist societies, then remove those conditions and crime should decline drastically. The common man will no longer need to steal from the affluent bourgeoisie in order to feed his family because with socialism comes equal ownership of the means of production across all of society. In short, the only solution to the crime problem as defined by Marxist theory involves the complete annihilation of capitalism and the subsequent adoption of socialism.
Back in 2003 “Ace High Flyer” and I spent some time in Minneapolis on a work detail from our employer. We got to tour the area a bit. So different then what we were used too. So flat! Visiting the Mall of America was quite an experience. Another eye opener was driving around Little Mogadishu, where crime was rampant long before Minneapolis burned.
So since the ‘withering away” of the police force in Minneapolis is continuing apace, is crime withering away too?

I can’t think of any reason any sane person would want to set foot in Minneapolis or any “Blue city” for that matter.
And it looks like its not going to get any better for the forseeable future.
