It’s tempting to sweep this confrontation with my own gullibility under the rug — to “move on” without ever acknowledging that I was duped, and that as a result I made mistakes in judgment, and that these mistakes, multiplied by the tens of thousands and millions on the part of people just like me, hurt millions of other people like you all, in existential ways.
But that erasure of personal and public history would be wrong.

A Chinese-owned company operating in the Washington, D.C., area hacked Hillary Clinton’s private server throughout her term as secretary of state and obtained nearly all her emails, two sources briefed on the matter told The Daily Caller News Foundation.
The Chinese firm obtained Clinton’s emails in real time as she sent and received communications and documents through her personal server, according to the sources, who said the hacking was conducted as part of an intelligence operation.
The Chinese wrote code that was embedded in the server, which was kept in Clinton’s residence in upstate New York. The code generated an instant “courtesy copy” for nearly all of her emails and forwarded them to the Chinese company, according to the sources.
The Intelligence Community Inspector General (ICIG) found that virtually all of Clinton’s emails were sent to a “foreign entity,” Rep. Louie Gohmert, a Texas Republican, said at a July 12 House Committee on the Judiciary hearing. He did not reveal the entity’s identity, but said it was unrelated to Russia.
Two officials with the ICIG, investigator Frank Rucker and attorney Janette McMillan, met repeatedly with FBI officials to warn them of the Chinese intrusion, according to a former intelligence officer with expertise in cybersecurity issues, who was briefed on the matter. He spoke anonymously, as he was not authorized to publicly address the Chinese’s role with Clinton’s server.
Among those FBI officials was Peter Strzok, who was then the bureau’s top counterintelligence official. Strzok was fired this month following the discovery he sent anti-Trump texts to his mistress and co-worker, Lisa Page. Strzok didn’t act on the information the ICIG provided him, according to Gohmert.
Gohmert mentioned in the Judiciary Committee hearing that ICIG officials told Strzok and three other top FBI officials that they found an “anomaly” on Clinton’s server.
The former intelligence officer TheDCNF spoke with said the ICIG “discovered the anomaly pretty early in 2015.”
“When [the ICIG] did a very deep dive, they found in the actual metadata — the data which is at the header and footer of all the emails — that a copy, a ‘courtesy copy,’ was being sent to a third party and that third party was a known Chinese public company that was involved in collecting intelligence for China,” the former intelligence officer told TheDCNF.
“The [the ICIG] believe that there was some level of phishing. But once they got into the server something was embedded,” he said. “The Chinese are notorious for embedding little surprises like this.”
The intelligence officer declined to name the Chinese company.

The company that penetrated Clinton’s server was not a technology firm and it served as a “front group” for the Chinese government, the source told TheDCNF.

It would be laughable, if it were not so potentially dangerous, that Hillary Clinton’s supposed transgressions are measured on the same scale with Trump’s flagrant disregard for standards of decent behavior. She sent email messages on the wrong server. This does not even register as a venial sin when compared to the history of sexual predation, business predation, tax evasion and lack of experience, knowledge or learning that characterize her opponent’s life.

— A simplified tax code for small business.
— Increased health care credits and expanded coverage under Obamacare.
— More money for community health centers and child care and for the financing of college.
— Higher taxes on high earners and steps to halt the abuse of offshore tax havens by companies.
— Major expenditures on infrastructure, adding jobs and rebuilding the nation.
— Training and apprenticeship programs to help workers displaced by new technology and trade.
And where pray tell is the money for all this coming from?
Oh by the way the “high earners”, the top 1% pay nearly 40% of the taxes. The top 10% pays nearly 70 %. The bottom 50% pays 2.78% of all income taxes. But if they agree to stay poor and vote democrat they can get “free stuff” courtesy of the people with paychecks.
But they must be talking about all those nasty billionaires, you know Mark Zuckerburg, Tom Steyer, Bloomburg, Buffet, and the one and only Dr. Evil George Soros. The ones who give generously to liberal and progressive causes, so no one questions wither you have too much money. No! they will feel no pain.
And certainly not the masses coming across our open border who will get welfare and free healthcare.
No, the people who will be screwed will be those in the middle.
A simplified tax code for small business? How about this, How much profit did you make last year? Send it in.
Government does not create wealth. It can only steal take from those who earn it.
But then it’s all about the ideology. Freedom be damned. unless it’s the freedom of a farm animal.
Of course this is only MY OPINON, but the Times Argus and the vast majority of media’s problem is obvious.
Trump has his flaws…but he’s preferable to the alternative.
Program format changes are afoot at WSNO 1450am. Conservative talk radio appears to be no more. In a way I’m not surprised. I would often listen to Glen Beck and especially Rush Limbaugh to get a does of sanity in a world increasingly going insane. The station recently switched from Sean Hannity to Howie Carr to perhaps a local New England conservative talk show host would pull better ratings. Apparently that experiment also failed.
But one couldn’t help but notice that during the breaks for local commercials there would be nothing but “dead air” or listen to the network countdown to cue the program back on.
Was it because no Central Vermont businesses wanted to advertise on conservative talk shows? Did they worry that their liberal democrat customers would boycott them? Did they really try hard to sell advertising?
Well I don’t hold anything against them. Radio is a business like everything else. And it comes down to ratings. Probably most of the people who would have listened have day jobs where the boss frowns on them listening to the radio. No doubt to many would refuse to listen because of preconceived notions about conservatives and will not lower themselves to listen to anything that might pierce their liberal bubble.
You can’t run a business and continue to be in the red. Those show cost money. Low ratings mean you can’t charge as much for advertising and even break even, let alone make a profit. So you’ve got to do what you’ve got to do.
It’s good that I my blog isn’t a business. looking at my viewer numbers which have been declining for some weeks, I wonder if the only people who read my blog are my friends and relatives. Oh well, I enjoy it .
Fortunately I’m able to pick Rush up on 620am out of Burlington.
