Ever closer to the abyss

From not so Great Britain. Churchill, C.S. Lewis, and Tolkin are spinning in their graves

Image

I remember that during the Vietnam war: way back in the sixties; the mantra was”QUESTION AUTHORITY”.

Remember when Hillary Clinton said THIS !!

Did you really mean any administration, Hillary?

Or does it depend on who’s in charge.

Meanwhile...

Soon anyone can be an informer in perfect safety.

Coming soon to the “Apple store” and “Google play”.

You were aware that Ben and Jerry are ‘white MEN’ !

(That makes it even worse)

And since all white people are racist and fragile no amount of ‘woke virtue signaling’ will change that fact .

I guess it’s just doesn’t work the same.

Just ask Starbucks and Amazon,

I haven’t heard of any B & J shops getting vandilized but I wouldn’t be surprised.

Amazon and Starbucks give MILLIONS to BLM—still get looted and destroyed

I would boycott Ben & Jerry’s but since I haven’t set foot into any of their shops in over twenty (20) years it won’t be too difficult.

Keep feeding that crocodile guys.

This is how I know I’m old.

And I’m kinda glad.

It was a different era that’s for sure.

How did we survive 60 years ago?

We drank water from the tap not a bottle and nobody knew about the dangers of lead poisoning so even cribs were painted with brightly colored lead based paint. Medicine and Bottles with tablets did not have child proof lids

No seat belts or air bags in cars, nobody knew or if they did told our parents smoking and drinking was bad for the baby, kids shared coke from one bottle, soda had masses of sugar and we ate real white bread and butter and everything else including full fat milk that we are now told is bad for you

Parents couldn’t reach us ( no mobiles ) and most of the day we would be out playing with friends and parents knew we would be safe with hardly any weirdos wandering the streets. If we got caught doing stuff we shouldn’t the cops would take us home and we may well have a got a hiding for breaking the law ( but no do gooders saying mustn’t smack children ). And if we played up in school the same applied.

While playing we got cuts and bruises and the occasional tear in jeans but it was just part of being a kid and no visit to the hospital.

We had no fancy games but could play for hours making a Go cart or a new tree swing and for other games most times we would find a ball and whatever we could use as a bat. or in the summer all jump into the nearest place we could find and if the water wasn’t that clean we just didn’t swallow it.

We rode our bikes with no helmets and doing whatever stunts we could ( bikes were so much heavier and hard waring ) and always had punctures to repair or get dad to help with.

If we didn’t get in the team we were not good enough and that was that.

But most of all we were allowed to be kids

To dream, to invent and to play.

It’s no wonder that the generation that grew up then created some of the most innovative and exciting technology we have today

Thanks for those years and all those “BAD THINGS” that is why we are who we are today

I also remember that calling long distance telephone was extremely expensive.

Especially when your dad was bringing home $60-$75 a week. The latter if he could get overtime unloading rail cars.

It used to really piss my mother off when we would get long distance calls from certain deadbeat relatives and the operator would ask if we would “accept the charges”.

Once upon a time B & J were Capitalist entreprenturs

As was practically every leftist millionaire and billionaire today.

Ben and Jerry have quite an interesting history

And I was there.

Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield were childhood friends from Merrick, New York.[3] Although Greenfield finished college, he found himself unable to make his way into medical school. Cohen dropped out of school.[4] In 1977, Cohen and Greenfield completed a correspondence course on ice cream making from Pennsylvania State University‘s creamery. …… On May 5, 1978, with a $12,000[4] investment (equivalent to $47,000 in 2019), the two business partners opened an ice cream parlor in a renovated gas station in downtown Burlington, Vermont. In 1979, they marked their anniversary by holding the first “free cone day”, now an annual event at every Ben & Jerry’s store.[4]

Sounds like the American Dream, two hippies make a product that people might want to buy. Take a risk by investing time, effort, money, and if you’re successful, you reap the rewards. Also as a byproduct of your success you provide jobs and an economic uplift to local dairy farmers and other suppliers.

Once they battled with giant corporations., but later Ben & Jerry sold out to virtue signaling multi-national corporation Unilever,

But were they ever true Proletariats. ?

Marxist philosophy considers the proletariat to be exploited under capitalism, forced to accept meagre wages in return for operating the means of production, which belong to the class of business owners, the bourgeoisie. Marx argued that this oppression gives the proletariat common economic and political interests that transcend national boundaries, impelling them to unite and take over power from the capitalist class, and eventually to create a communist society free from class distinctions.

So what are liberals and/or progressives to do when instead being the working class hero commited to the overthrow of capitalism; they become a successful bourgeoisie business owners who make seven figures a year. You certainaly don’t want the Social Justice Warriors (BLM and Antifa) thinking ill thoughts about you. And you do want to be true to your Progressive values. So you virtue signal. Especially when it comes to RACISM !

Perhaps not in the 1% but definitely in the top 10.

Ben Cohen’s net worth.

Jerry Greenfield’s net worth.

They call themselves the “Party of Science”

They’re not, they’re the Party of Lysenkoism.

Lysenkoism, named after Soviet botanist Trofim Denisovich Lysenko (Russian: Трофи́м Дени́сович Лысе́нко), was a Marxist-Leninist pseudo-scientific and political doctrine in Joseph Stalin‘s Soviet Union that mandated that all biological research conducted in the USSR conform to a modified Lamarckian evolutionary theory.

The underlying appeal was that it promised a biology based on a plastic view of life that was consistent with the plastic view of human nature insisted upon by Marxist-Leninist dogma.

As such, in a 1948 speech prepared by Stalin, Lysenko declared Mendel and any adherents of his science to be the “enemy of the people“.[1]

It’s the same B.S. that’s peddled about “Climate Change”

And now there are people who advocate that we’ll need to wear masks FOREVER !!

Badges of submission is what they are.

Behold, the science of totalitarianism.

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron’s cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.C. S. Lewis

Corporate Fascism

They’re not even pretending anymore.

What would Bernie say?

It was a big part of my life !

It’s not anymore!

A Long, long time ago in a era that now seems so far, far away.

Way back in 1966 my Aunt and Uncle took me on my first trip to the big city of Boston to go to Fenway Park to watch the Red Sox play the Kansas City Athletics in a double header.

It was August 25th; the Red Sox won both games. The attendance was 8,321.

They finished ninth that year. Looking back it’s worthy to note that they finished ahead of the Yankees who finished tenth.

Of course 1967 was the year of “the impossable dream”. After 15 years of mediorcracy and an indifferent fan base the Red Sox had become revalent again. I became a rabid fan.

This of course meant gut wretching disappointment over the next 35 years. Missing the playoff in 1972 by a stinking 1/2 game on account of lost games due to a players strike.

Then came the 1975 world series loss to the Reds in seven games.

1986…the less said the better. Same with 2003.

If a game was on T.V. the set would be on. Otherwise I would be listening on the radio, I remember many times listening to west coast games that would often go into extra innings; on work nights, sometimes to 3-3:30 in the morning only to have them lose with one out to go.

But then in the miracle year of 2004, after an 86 year drought, the curse was lifted. People had gone their entire lifetimes without seeing the Red Sox win a world championship; then suddenly 4 in the span of 14 years.

Then 2019-2020 football and basketball went full”WOKE”, with kneeling during the National Anthem and displaying the Marxist ‘BLM” logo’s in their arena’s and on apparel. Then came the COVID-19 pandemic. On March 12 began a three(3) week shutdown “to flatten the curve”. Three weeks turned into indefintely. In Minneaplois on May 25th came the death of George Floyd while in police custody. From that day on riots ensued in practically every blue/democrat run city. Their Mayors ordering law enforcement to stand down while thousands of small businesses (many minority owned) were destroyed by fire and looting by BLM and Antifi thugs who were given cart-blanche.

Major league Baseball’s spring training had been suspended because of the pandemic. It was originally hoped that after the ‘curve was flattened’ the season could commence but the lockdown was never lifted. Finally it was decided that an abbreviated sixty game season would begin on July 23rd with games being played before empty stadiums.

Major League Baseball had a golden opportunity not to follow football and basketball’s example and not go “woke”. To offer a place for people who just wanted to watch a baseball game in a safe enviroment with their family or friends, and root for their team, a respite from political correctness and division. BUT NOOOOOOO!

So now we come to 2021, and MLB is doubling down on ‘wokenessby moving the All-Star game from a majority African-American city (Atlanta) to a majority ‘white’ city (Denver). Why? you ask !

It’s because the State of Georga inacted some new voting laws that makes voter fraud a little more difficult and elections a little more honest. Of course THAT’S RACIST !!

Never mind that the event was going to honor a baseball and hometown legend, The late great Hank Aaron.

Never mind that 30% of the businesses that stood to benifit from the event are BLACK OWNED !

I once though of going to professional Baseball game as a place where people of all races and political beliefs could congregate, drink beer, eat hot dogs, and watch gifted millionaires (Black, Brown, and White) who are paid a princely sum to play a little kids game.

Not anymore, because the Left ruins everything it touches.

Did you know that 75% of their fan base, the people who bought the tickets at watched the games on T.V. are now RACIST BY BIRTH ?

I have watched no T.V. or listened to any radio of any baseball games in general and the Red Sox in particular. They are dead to me. I have no idea whose on the team nor do I care.

And that’s why it’s so depressing; it was something that I enjoyed very much.

But like Rush, my country, and especially my partner of 28 years, my passion for baseball and the Red Sox had died too.

I’m glad I’m old.

Bernie was right!

And so was Barack

Not that long ago back in 2010; during the Obama’s administration, the Supreme Court in a then landmark decision called “Citizens United”

Barack ‘O’ denounced the decision.

“It is a major victory for big oil, Wall Street banks, health insurance companies and the other powerful interests that marshal their power every day in Washington to drown out the voices of everyday Americans,” Obama said.

Bernie was apocalyptic over it

The DISCLOSE Act narrowly passed in the House of Representatives but has repeatedly failed to clear the Senate—even when it was controlled by Democrats. Undaunted, Sanders has tirelessly spoken—and acted—against Citizens United. At a March 2011 town hall event in his home state of Vermont, he blasted the Supreme Court for “unleashing a tsunami of corporate spending in politics” and “making a disastrous situation much, much worse.” He continued:

For the first time in American history, corporations who are sitting on trillions of dollars… and making record profits can now… spend as much money as they want… for or against candidates. What does this mean in real life? Candidates, knowing that millions and millions of dollars can come flowing into their campaigns… when they come up to cast their vote in the Senate, what do you think is on [their] minds? If you are dealing with whether or not it is a good idea for the four largest financial institutions in the country to own more than half of the assets of our GDP, do you think you’re going to cast a vote to break [them] up, when you know that Wall Street can spend millions and millions of dollars… to defeat you? If you are sympathetic… to moving this country to Medicare for All… how willing to you think members of the Senate will be to vote to move in that direction when you know the power of the private insurance companies?

“[Americans] for hundreds of years have been fighting to say, ‘one person, one vote,’” he added. “Let’s have a democracy where money is not the key factor… as many people as possible should participate… Citizens United … essentially says that corporations and billionaires can… decide who will become president, senator or a governor. That is not what this country is about and that has got to be defeated.” A corporation is not a person,” Sanders concluded.

It’s ironic that“Citizens United “ was a 5-4 decision passed by the “conservative wing” and “John Roberts” of all people cast the deciding vote.

But what Bernie and Barack expected didn’t happen.

Since the start of the 20th century the conventional thinking was always that the Democrats were the party of the “little guy”; the “farmers”; “the working man” (Unions). Republicans were the party of capitalism, big business… i.e. corporations, and Billionaires.

’” he (Bernie) added. “Let’s have a democracy where money is not the key factor… as many people as possible should participate… Citizens United … essentially says that corporations and billionaires can… decide who will become president, senator or a governor.

My, my, how times have changed.

Corporations and the billionaires who owned/run them were once viewed as bourgeoisie capitalists, and the Marxist ideology predicted that the inevitable march of history would consign them to the ash heap of history.

Apparently a lot of billionaires like Tom Styer, Bill Gates and Jeff Bezos took this to heart and decided to get ahead of the curve and not only join the revolution but co-opt it as well. They’re now all on your side Bernie.

You’ve got the billionaire :Nazi collaberator George Soros. Social media giants Mark Zuckerburg and Jack Dorsey who decide who gets to speak and who’s told to shut up on their media platforms. The executive team at Youtube who enforce strict algorithms that will demonitize and/or ban video’s that don’t meet their criteria or political leanings.. Because these are privite “CORPORATIONS” they can legally censure you. “Freedom of speech” doesn’t apply to them.

Big Business (corporations), the Chambers of Comerace and the NCAA is on board too. In South Dakota they’ve coerced the Governor to veto a bill that was meant to protect girls sports programs from men masquerading as women. In the State of Georgia, gone “woke” corporations such as ,Delta, American, and Southwest airlines (Altlanta’s a major hub) Coca-Cola and Major League Baseball, have have decided to use economic blackmail to halt common sense voting reform.

There was a time when very wealthy people were scared shitless of a politcal ideology that since the begining of the 20th century has demonized their very existance. So one would think that their poitical leanings would be conservative/republican. But as we’ve all seen, too many Republican politicians will simply run away at any critical moment. Secondly three generations of leftist indoctrination have made their mark as corporate board rooms are filled with SJW’s in busuness suits. And third, the Democrat/Progressive/Marxist have not one but two militant arms (Antifa and BLM) that are not afraid to pay you and your family a visit with their version of pitchforks and torches.

The “mostly peaceful:” rioting and burning of blue cities over the course of last summer also destroyed thousands of small businesses and allow huge corporations such as Jeff Bezo’s Amazon to get all the more bigger and the rich to get richer.

This was partly made possible by the “Citizen United” decision. And Wall Street and the Democrat’s perfered brand of socialism is Corporate Facism. It’s “all within the State, nothing outside the State, nothing against the State” . Was this what Bernie and Barack were afraid would happen? Do you still denouce the ‘SCOTUS’ decision?

Will Antifa and the Marxist Blacks Lives Matter get with the program now that the bad Orangeman is out and dementia Joe is in? Time will tell. But as long as American Corporations continue paying ‘tribute and protection money’ an uneasy peace may be maintained.

I’m glad I’m old.
