Our Vyshinsky

This is Andrey Vyshinsky...

When atheism is the main pillar of your ideology it’s only natural that there’s no such thing as “God-given rights”.

Vyshinsky is also attributed by some as the author of an infamous quote from the Stalin era: “Give me a man and I will find the crime.

Andrey Vyshinsky would have been so proud of Judge Arther Engoron who presided over Donald Trump’s real estate fraud show trial.  And…

It succeeded wonderfully with New Yorkers, who celebrated the verdict like a popular public execution. It also worked wonderfully to make it difficult to appeal.

Much of the criticism of the decision focused on the unprecedented use of the law and the excessive size of the fine. The New York statute has been on the books for decades and has always been something of an anomaly in not requiring an actual victim or loss to justify disgorgement or fines.

Even the New York Times agreed that it could not find a single case in history where this statute was used against an individual or a company that did not commit a criminal offense, go bankrupt, or leave financial victims.

Engoron then combined that unprecedented application with an equally extraordinary penalty, which is greater than the gross national product of some countries.

There is also an added inequity to Engoron’s decision.

Under New York law, Trump cannot appeal this ruling without depositing the full amount, including interest, in a court account. Even for Trump, $455 million is hard to come by. Likewise, a bond would require a company to guarantee payment for a defendant who has been barred from doing business, in New York and is facing the need to liquidate much of his portfolio.

Nothing succeeds like excess for judges like Engoron. By imposing this astronomical figure, he can make it difficult or impossible for a defendant to appeal, absent declaring bankruptcy or selling off assets at a distressed price.

America is not the same country of my youth,  but becoming more like the bad old USSR with the FBI and CIA morphing into the American version of the NKVD. The change did not happen overnight but over decades. But in the last ten years, the decline has increased exponentially. And not just America but Western civilization in general.

I’m glad I’m old,  but I’m grateful that for most of my life, I lived in an America that still was that shining house on the hill. Nothing lasts forever. I hope America will eventually pull itself out of its present cesspit but whether it does or not it’s not likely to happen in my lifetime.

And remember this, God never turned his face away from you, you turned your face away from him. The result is there for all with eyes to see.

Europe is further along than the U.S.A.

But not by much.

And the clock of history was striking.

In 1934 at the January Plenum of the Central Committee and Central Control Commission of the Soviet Communist Party, the Great Leader (having already in mind, no doubt, how many he would soon have to do away with) declared that the withering away of the state ( which had been awaited virtually from 1920 on) would arrive via, believe it or not, the maximum intensification of state power!

This was so unexpectedly brilliant that it was not given to every little mind to grasp it, but Vyshinsky, ever the loyal apprentice, immediately picked it up: “And this means the maximum strengthening of corrective-labor institutions.”

Who will come to her emotional rescue?

Virtue signaling can sure bite you in the ass when you have to walk the walk. And your constituents of color who voted en mass for you, because they’ve voted Democrat all their lives, realize they’re being kicked to the curb to accommodate illegal migrants that you’ve welcomed in.

M.L.K. is fading away to the dustbin of history.

There’s a saying that hard times create strong men, strong men create good times, and good times create weak men. Martin Luther King lived through hard times, It made him a strong man.

1968 was a very turbulent year. Lyndon Johnson did not run for re-election after public opinion turned against him over endless Vietnam. Though that decision was made back in 1964

Let’s admit at once that there is ample evidence of growing opposition to any Johnson election to a second full term in 1968. Little would be gained here by reciting it. That year was a dramatic one, to be sure, with assassinations, a convention with street demonstrations, and a highly visible—and audibleleft wing of the Democratic Party yelling ever louder in the hope of crushing the incumbent part of the party as soon as possible, forcing it to give up, in advance of evolving events.

“I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.” MLK

On December 7th, 2023 a person tried to burn down Martin Luther King’s birthplace.

Officers arrested the 26-year-old woman around 5:45 p.m. Thursday after responding to a report of vandalism in process at the two-story home in the historic Auburn Avenue Historic District, according to a police statement. Police say a preliminary investigation shows the woman had poured gasoline on the property before people at the site stopped her.

“We believe at this time she was pouring gasoline on the porch and the door of the home. Their quick action saved a jewel of our city, something very important to Atlanta,” Atlanta Police Chief Darin Schierbaum told WXIA-TV.

Video shot by a witness and broadcast by local television stations shows a young woman dressed in black pants, a black shirt, and a black knit cap holding a large red gas canister standing on the front porch of the house and dousing the home with a liquid. A police report says she was not wearing any shoes.

The woman has since been identified as a decorated Navy veteran and obviously, some mental health issues could be at play here. Recalling Dr. King’s invocation of judging someone by one’s character, there was no mention of her race in the PBS report. Commendable. Would this apply to anyone who wasn’t Black?

And mental illness notwithstanding, what would prompt a Black person to want to destroy his birthplace?

And this is the Rub. I was a living witness to Dr. King’s career, his advocacy of non-violence in fighting racism,  for civil rights, and equal opportunity was inspirational. His death by assassination after seemingly predicting it the night before cemented his place as a giant in

There was no question in my mind of what Martin Luther King meant to convey, an America that would finally live up to its ideals of the Constitution and finish the work begun after the Civil War.

Yet today, 60 years after King shared this vision during his most famous speech, there is considerable disagreement over what it means.

As we mark the King’s holiday, what might he ask of us at a time when both the president and a disproportionate number of people in poverty are black? Would King have wanted us to completely ignore race in a “color-blind” society? To consider race as one of many factors about a person? And how do we discern character? For at least two of King’s children, the future envisioned by the father has yet to arrive.“I don’t think we can ignore race,” says Martin Luther King III.

“What my father is asking is to create the climate where every American can realize his or her dreams,” he says. “Now what does that mean when you have 50 million people living in poverty?

This is why MLK III!  What!  LBJ’s Great Society only made things worse for African Americans.

When conservatives (like me) embrace MLK and what he so eloquently preached, well, for the Left, it’s time for re-evaluation.

For many conservatives, the modern meaning of King’s quote is clear: Special consideration for one racial or ethnic group is a violation of the dream.

The quote is like the Declaration of Independence, says Roger Clegg, president of the Center for Equal Opportunity, a conservative think tank that studies race and ethnicity. In years past, he says, America may have needed to grow into the words, but today they must be obeyed to the letter.

“The Declaration of Independence says all men are created equal,” Clegg says. “Nobody thinks it doesn’t mean what it says because Thomas Jefferson owned slaves. King gave a brilliant and moving quotation, and I think it says we should not be treating people differently based on skin color.”

Many others agree. King’s quote has become a staple of the conservative belief that “judged by the color of their skin” includes things such as unique appeals to certain voter groups, reserving government contracts for Hispanic-owned businesses, seeking more non-white corporate executives, or admitting black students to college with lower test scores.

On May 25th, 2020 a Minneapolis police officer had a very bad day.  This was the spark that lit  A powder keg that had been set by then-President Obama.

And for the rest of that summer blue American cities were wracked with riots, looting, and arson. Democrat mayors of these cities told their police depts to stand down. And thus they allied themselves with the radical Marxist groups Black Lives Matter, and Antifa.

Criminals were given free rein to loot and pillage at will.

Then de-funding the police became the order of the day in blue cities across the country. So was it any surprise that things like this happen?

In 1984 the the Irish band U2 released “Pride” (In the Name of Love) about MLK and his assassination. For Black Lives Matter and Antifa “Love” is not on their to-do list.

BLM lives on the grift of “white guilt”. Antifa is funded by Leftist billionaires.

The words of Martin Luther King are irrelevant to these bastards.

I will close with this:

January 15th was the official federal holiday commemorating Dr. Martin Luther King Jr’s birthday which unlike many, for once falls on his actual birthday. For sure, he had his faults and his flaws like any other human being, but his core beliefs and what he fought for, and the ways of nonviolence that he advocated to achieve them stand in stark, absolute contrast with what the Anti-American Left and its co-conspirators in the Democrat Party have done to this nation in the 60 years since Dr. King’s heyday (and really since Burr murdered Hamilton).

Instead of equality of opportunity, and content of character over color of skin, we have been “fundamentally transformed” into a dystopian society where things are just the opposite. I just have to write the name “Claudine Gay” and you can well imagine Dr. King somewhere in the great beyond weeping, if not hurling epithets. It’s bad enough that we have a hierarchy based on the most irrelevant things such as racial, ethnic, and sexual characteristics, but the purveyors of this poison have as central tenets the notion of oppressed and oppressors, where the latter are defined with the immutable characteristics of being genetically pre-disposed to being such. That is, an evil that must be eradicated, “by any means necessary.”

I’m glad I’m old. the future does not look promising.

It’s a question of when…not if…

America revolts and saves itself, or submits with a whimper and “the last great hope of earth” extinguished forever.

When the Bolsheviks seized power in Russia in 1917, overthrowing the provisional government,  one of their first order of business was to eliminate their erstwhile allies.  The Mensheviks, and the Socialist Revolutionaries.

When the trial of the Socialist Revolutionaries concluded in 1922 the Soviet Union became the one-party state Lenin envisioned.

In Vermont, the voters in their wisdom{?} have given the Democrats/progressives/socialists a supermajority in the legislature to push full speed ahead their environmental and woke agenders for the past few election cycles. They have made it a habit of overriding Governor Phil Scott’s vetoes.  The Republican party of Vermont has nothing to do.

Of course, Vermont is not the only state in this situation, the rest of New England, New York, and any state that has large metropolitan areas will vote blue no matter who and overwhelm the red rural population of the state.  And if their cities turn into deeper shitholes because of virtue signaling sanctuary cities overrun with illegal migrants, (courtesy of the brain-dead president they voted for)  defunding their law enforcement leads to rising crime and voting in D.A’s that allow violent criminals right back on the street.

They say the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result. They will continue to vote blue because it is their religion.

California, of course, is in a class by itself.

But just in case people who normally vote blue conclude that the present situation is just not working or sustainable, well the Democrats are trying to ensure that Orange Man is not even on the ballot.

In a New York Post opinion piece,  the effort to remove more Republicans from national and state ballots may be just getting started.

As the decisions disqualifying former President Donald Trump from the 2024 election work their way through the courts, a new filing in Pennsylvania seeks the same “ballot cleansing” by barring Republican Rep. Scott Perry.
It’s only the latest effort targeting congressional candidates as Democrats seek to bar opponents as “insurrectionists” for questioning the election of President Biden.
We have become a nation of Madame Defarges — eagerly knitting names of those to be subject to arbitrary justice.
Former congressional candidate Gene Stilp, who’s made headlines by burning MAGA flags with swastikas outside courthouses, filed the challenge.
Using the 14th Amendment to disqualify candidates like Perry is consistent with Stilp’s signature flag-burning stunts.

I suppose we conservative MAGA people should  consider ourselves fortunate that we haven’t reached the point where we worry about the nighttime knock on the door…yet. The 2nd admendment might have a little something to do with it.. But we presently have a “show trial” being conducted againt Donald Trump.

A show trial is a public trial in which the guilt or innocence of the defendant has already been determined. The purpose of holding a show trial is to present both accusation and verdict to the public, serving as an example and a warning to other would-be dissidents or transgressors.[2]

Show trials tend to be retributive rather than corrective, and they are also conducted for propagandistic purposes.[3] When aimed at individuals on the basis of protected classes or characteristics, show trials are examples of political persecution. The term was first recorded in 1928.[4]

A similar concept is “kangaroo court“.

2024 will be a watershed year for America, as much if not more then in 1860.  I hope for the best but preparing for the worse. And if the worse does come to past I will at least have the satisfaction of knowing that my lifetime incompassed the last era of freedom and sanity of this wonderful country.

“Shall we expect some transatlantic military giant to step the ocean and crush us at a blow? Never! All the armies of Europe, Asia, and Africa combined, with all the treasure of the earth (our own excepted) in their military chest, with a Bonaparte for a commander, could not by force take a drink from the Ohio or make a track on the Blue Ridge in a trial of a thousand years. At what point then is the approach of danger to be expected? I answer. If it ever reach us it must spring up amongst us; it cannot come from abroad. If destruction be our lot we must ourselves be its author and finisher. As a nation of freemen we must live through all time or die by suicide”  A. Lincoln

Bernie vs. the Billionaires

Bernie feels that billionaires should be taxed at 100%

{The US government should confiscate 100% of any money that Americans make above $999m, the leftwing independent senator Bernie Sanders said late last week. Sanders expressed that belief in an exchange on Friday evening with the host of Who’s Talking to Chris Wallace? on HBO Max.

Wallace had asked Sanders about the general assertion in his book It’s OK to Be Angry About Capitalism that billionaires should not exist. “Are you saying that once you get to $999m the government should confiscate all the rest?” Wallace asked the US senator from Vermont, who is an independent but caucuses with Democrats and has helped them attain their current slim majority in the upper congressional chamber.

“Yeah,” Sanders replied. “You may disagree with me but, fine, I think people can make it on $999m. I think that they can survive just fine.”}

Bernie emphasized that it was nothing personal.

To be fair, Bernie’s net worth of 3 million dollars he’s not even close to being a 1%, but I wouldn’t call him middle class

According to the 2023 Forbes  annual wealthest. list, the number of billionaires in the world is 2,640. This is a decrease from 2,668 in 2022. The U.S. has more billionaires than any other country: 735. China, including Hong Kong and Macao, is close behind with 562.6.

One thing is for sure, the ‘rich’ have long known that voting, donating, and virtue signaling for the Democrat party makes people overlook the fact that you’ve done very well for yourself economically, and have many material possesions. Wither you’ve earned them or not.

And here is the proof.

Donors From The Richest Zip Codes In America Are Throwing Their Support Behind Biden.

The Democrat party of Roosevelt, Truman, and Kennedy is long gone. It has become polluted with Marxist ideology and anti-semitism. Liberal democrats…wealthy liberal democrats either have no idea what’s coming down the pike, or else they’ve decided to feed the crocodile hoping that it will eat them last. But they will be eaten…eventually.
