“Posse Comitatus” and “Insurrection”
Signed into law in 1878 at the end of “Reconstruction”, the Posse Comtatus Act forbade the Federal Government from employing U.S. military, air and navel forces ( the Coast Guard excepted) in the domistic enforcement of federal law. Which Southern ‘Democrat’ Congressmen and Senators meant the enforcement of Federal laws protecting the civil rights African Americans.
The country’s founders wanted the military to be under ‘civilian’ control so they made the POTUS the commander-in -chief . They were well versed in classical antiquity, in that huge armies would often place allegence to their commanding generals rather then a distant Senate or nominal king. Checks and balances were written into the Constitution to prevent an elected President from overstepping his powers and morph the country into a tin pot dictatorship like say…Venezuela.
Because the Posse Comitarus and Insurrection acts place limits on what the Federal Government i.e. the President can legally do, it is the responsibility of the state governors and city mayors to insure that public safety, the protection of privite property, and law and order is maintained.
The Posse Comitatus Act, the Insurrection Act, and National Guard policy place limits on the actions of National Guard forces when federalized and deployed by order of the president. In general, forces of the regular U.S. military and National Guard are limited to providing support and assistance to local and state law enforcement and public safety agencies. Such assistance typically includes protecting human life, protecting public and private property, and restoring and maintaining civil order. For example, the National Guard Reaction Force assists local police with activities such as providing site security, manning roadblocks and checkpoints, and protecting public and private property, including preventing looting.
More recently, on May 31, 2020, after a night of rioting in the wake of the death of George Floyd, the citizen-soldiers of the Minnesota National Guard carried out 19 missions assisting the Minneapolis and Saint Paul police and fire departments in transporting victims of violence to area hospitals, fighting fires, and restoring order in the area.
In deep blue states with leftist Democrat governors along with even deeper blue cities with radical leftist mayors, they ordered their National Guard and police forces to “stand down” and do nothing while their cities burned, and people killed.
The National Guardsmen of these “BLUE” states were forbidden by their superiors to ‘restore order, protect property, and save lives. And there was nothing that President Trump could legally do to stop it.
But Donald Trump is now President in exile. Puppet Joe is President. Is “Posse Comitatus” now out the window?
The estimable Sundance at Conservative Treehouse thinks so and recently posted a blunt warning that the Democrats’ overt politicization of the U.S. military (its staged Capitol encampment, ideological purge of Trump voters, and shameful public battles with conservative news pundits and Republican lawmakers) should be seen as part of a larger strategy by the centralized government in D.C. to prepare for the use of military force against individual states and regions of the country that may choose to push back against unconstitutional federal power grabs in the future. Now that the pretext of using troops to put down MAGA “insurrectionists” has been established, it will be ignominiously used to justify military support for confiscating guns, enforcing extended pandemic lockdowns, and identifying Americans too attached to the Bill of Rights. (The fact that Sundance chose the Ides of March to outline the likelihood of such an intimate betrayal by the military against the states is, I suspect, no coincidence for a meticulous writer who enjoys reaching readers on an emotional, as well as an intellectual, level.)
I think things are going to get pretty scary over the next few years.

For those of you not up to speed on this, Tucker Carlson poked a hornets’ nest the other day when he criticized the military for introducing flight suits (worn by pilots engaging in combat operations) for visibly pregnant women. The reaction by the Department of Defense was swift and fierce:
Defense.gov posted an article celebrating how “Press Secretary Smites Host that Dissed Diversity in the U.S. Military.” Carlson did nothing of the kind. He took issue with sending pregnant women to war, which is what is implied by designing flight suits for pregnant women.
Press Spokesman John Kirby, who knows better as a retired public affairs Navy admiral, could have issued a simple correction saying, “No, the U.S. military does not send pregnant women to war. Pilots may wear flight suits in day-to-day duties stateside and this does not imply we send pregnant women to war.” Instead, he chose to excoriate Carlson for what Carlson did not say, which was that women should not be sent to fight our nation’s wars.
You might notice that the military spokesmen are using the motte-and-bailey ruse to dishonestly attack Carlson. But more importantly, why go after Carlson at all? He’s just a political commentator on cable TV. The military’s job is to defend the country. How trying to silence Tucker Carlson contributes to this is not clear. But this was a coordinated social media attack on Carlson with the intent of shutting him up.

What has happened to our military? How did it get to be in such a disgusting condition that their language sounds like an Maoist struggle session or old-school Soviet show trial?
In one word: Obama.
The man corrupted everything he touched. It’s going to take years, maybe even decades, to clean out all of the progressive rot and filth he left behind, and that’s assuming we can even muster the will to do it. But I suspect he had his minions burrow into the Department of Defense, issue ‘woke’ directives that promoted ‘woke’ policy, and corrupted the officer corps by only promoting officers who backed the ‘woke’ guidelines and ignoring or reassigning those who refused. In such an environment, those who wanted to advance their career learned how to speak ‘woke’ real fast, or at least had the savvy to know how and when to regurgitate the ‘woke’ talking points du jour.
The purpose of progressivism is to infiltrate an institution and turn it into another appendage of the ‘woke’ hive mind. To “fundamentally transform it”, as they would describe the process. That’s what they do. And they were busy doing it in the military all throughout the Obama years, and also the Trump years. But now we can see. We’re at the point where the exterminator is at our house showing us where the termites are eating into the joists and floorboards.
As I said, cleaning out these Augean Stables is going to take years. And we’re going to have to develop and disseminate a self-consciously anti-progressive mindset in order to accomplish this Herculean task. And at this point, I wonder if this is even possible.

The collosal media Corporations (both mainstream and social) are owned by billionaire’s who gained their enormus wealth through free enterprise and free markets but who either embrace Marxist ideology (because capitalism has to come before Marxism) or they just want to keep the mobs with torches and pitchforks i.e. “Antifa” (fascist claiming to be anti-fascist) and “BLM” a Marxist organization disguised as an ant- racsist organization.
Remember hearing about the infamous Hollywood blacklist of the 1950’s. Well it depends on who’s doing the blacklisting. Today of course it’s called Cancel culture
The late great El-Rusbo used to say that there will always be an America in some form, the problem being that it’s not the same country we, who were born in the fifties, sixties and seventies grew up in and remember. The youth have been indoctrinated since the seventies that their county has been rotten all the way back to its founding and like the slowly boiling frog we failed to notice (or didn’t want to) until it was far to late.
Now of course the “Democrats” control the Presidency through Puppet Joe. The House and the Senate. And a Supreme Court majority that feels it can fold the Constitution into paper airplanes and toss them out the window. They are raming through new laws legitimizing voter fraud on a massive scale to insure one party rule for the foreseeable future and the American economy, and American freedoms be damned. Now as the law of the land: Vote by mail, election day registration, non citizens (illegal aliens) and criminals allow to vote; and do it early and often.
The only way that I can see America pulling out of this headlong dive into the abyss is if…if millions of voters who legitimetly voted for Joe Biden and the Democrats because of “Orangeman bad” or that voting democrat makes them “WOKE” and not fear being canceled, might possably realize that perhaps things are going a little to far to fast, especially when it starts to affect their pocketbooks and thier own freedoms. Maybe, but it’s so hard to admit to oneself that maybe…just maybe you might have been wrong. Especially when that day comes when they’re coming after you. Because they discovered that you haven’t been “WOKE” enough.
