Commentary from John Adams, deepred, Oregon Muse, and Aaron Clary

Aaron Clary is CEO of Asshole Consulting.

Our present political system has obviously failed. Our founders tried to anticipate human nature but as founding father John Adams once remarked:

“We have no government armed with power capable of contending with human passions unbridled by morality and religion. Avarice, ambition, revenge or gallantry would break the strongest cords of our Constitution as a whale goes through a net. Our Constitution is designed only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate for any other.”

You were so correct on that Mr Adams.

Mr Adams was also quite pessimistic that once liberty is lost:

“Cities may be rebuilt, and a People reduced to Poverty, may acquire fresh Property: But a Constitution of Government once changed from Freedom, can never be restored. Liberty once lost is lost forever. When the People once surrendered their share in the Legislature, and their Right of defending the Limitations upon the Government, and of resisting every Encroachment upon them, they can never regain it.”

Another quote:

“There is nothing I dread so much as the division of the republic into two great parties, each arranged under its leader, and concerting measures in opposition to each other. This, in my humble apprehension, is to be dreaded as the greatest political evil under our constitution.

I would have disagree slightly with Mr. Adams on one point. America was able to function reasonably well with “two great parties” and until this last election the transfer of governing political power from one party to the other was always performed peacefully with the understanding that the peoples unalienable rights were sacrosanct.

That has been thrown out the window.

Because the Democrats the party of slaveholders which became the party of the Ku Klux Klan, Jim Crow, and later labor unions, has over the decades morphed in to a Marxist/Corporate Fascist party that like a parasite took over control of all academia, the media, the government bureaucracy, the FBI, and the Courts. Also they’re close to taking control of our Armed forces.

The opposition party, a.k.a. the Republicans; began as the anti-slavery, emancipation, civil rights party. But over the course of decades it lost the will to fight for American principles especially during President Trump’s frst two years in office and the disgraceful performace when the election was being stolen right before their eyes. They were simply paralized with fear,

Now let’s hear from “Cappy” on what his ideal political system would be if we’re ever able to pull out of this deepshit pit America now finds itsef in.

“Posse Comitatus” and “Insurrection”

Signed into law in 1878 at the end of “Reconstruction”, the Posse Comtatus Act forbade the Federal Government from employing U.S. military, air and navel forces ( the Coast Guard excepted) in the domistic enforcement of federal law. Which Southern ‘Democrat’ Congressmen and Senators meant the enforcement of Federal laws protecting the civil rights African Americans.

The country’s founders wanted the military to be under ‘civilian’ control so they made the POTUS the commander-in -chief . They were well versed in classical antiquity, in that huge armies would often place allegence to their commanding generals rather then a distant Senate or nominal king. Checks and balances were written into the Constitution to prevent an elected President from overstepping his powers and morph the country into a tin pot dictatorship like say…Venezuela.

Because the Posse Comitarus and Insurrection acts place limits on what the Federal Government i.e. the President can legally do, it is the responsibility of the state governors and city mayors to insure that public safety, the protection of privite property, and law and order is maintained.

The Posse Comitatus Act, the Insurrection Act, and National Guard policy place limits on the actions of National Guard forces when federalized and deployed by order of the president. In general, forces of the regular U.S. military and National Guard are limited to providing support and assistance to local and state law enforcement and public safety agencies. Such assistance typically includes protecting human life, protecting public and private property, and restoring and maintaining civil order. For example, the National Guard Reaction Force assists local police with activities such as providing site security, manning roadblocks and checkpoints, and protecting public and private property, including preventing looting.

More recently, on May 31, 2020, after a night of rioting in the wake of the death of George Floyd, the citizen-soldiers of the Minnesota National Guard carried out 19 missions assisting the Minneapolis and Saint Paul police and fire departments in transporting victims of violence to area hospitals, fighting fires, and restoring order in the area.

In deep blue states with leftist Democrat governors along with even deeper blue cities with radical leftist mayors, they ordered their National Guard and police forces to “stand down” and do nothing while their cities burned, and people killed.

The National Guardsmen of these “BLUE” states were forbidden by their superiors to ‘restore order, protect property, and save lives. And there was nothing that President Trump could legally do to stop it.

But Donald Trump is now President in exile. Puppet Joe is President. Is “Posse Comitatus” now out the window?

The estimable Sundance at Conservative Treehouse thinks so and recently posted a blunt warning that the Democrats’ overt politicization of the U.S. military (its staged Capitol encampment, ideological purge of Trump voters, and shameful public battles with conservative news pundits and Republican lawmakers) should be seen as part of a larger strategy by the centralized government in D.C. to prepare for the use of military force against individual states and regions of the country that may choose to push back against unconstitutional federal power grabs in the future.  Now that the pretext of using troops to put down MAGA “insurrectionists” has been established, it will be ignominiously used to justify military support for confiscating guns, enforcing extended pandemic lockdowns, and identifying Americans too attached to the Bill of Rights.  (The fact that Sundance chose the Ides of March to outline the likelihood of such an intimate betrayal by the military against the states is, I suspect, no coincidence for a meticulous writer who enjoys reaching readers on an emotional, as well as an intellectual, level.)

I think things are going to get pretty scary over the next few years.

I’m glad I’m old.

I’m surprise Twitter hasn’t removed this…yet.

John Hayward (aka “Doc Zero”)tweeted out an excellent essay a few days ago, pointing out that with free speech and liberty almost extinguished, conservatives will have to fight for our rights in a manner that is in conflict with our “peacetime principles.” With the left using Alinskyite tactics to make us submit to repression – because not doing so would violate our principles — Hayward articulates that the survival of liberty requires that we “accept the sad necessity of bending those principles until the day they are no longer fatal weaknesses.”

A very important principle of mine is that my principles will never require me to sacrifice my liberty.

Is it possible to fight against totalitarian statists without ever compromising conservative “principles?” Is it better to play “fair,” and constantly lose? Can you grapple with monsters without becoming a monster? That’s the question at the heart of the schism on the Right.

Many works of passive, academic conservatism make for stimulating reading, and they’d be great stuff to bring along if you were leading a band of refugees onto an island to build a new society from scratch. But they have little relevance to the desperate battle we’re actually in.

We’re up against a totalitarian ideology that has already corrupted every single institution of American society. We’re not beginning a high-minded constitutional debate with the Left – we’re fighting a desperate last-ditch battle to preserve what little remains of FREE SPEECH.

How do you fight back against cancel culture? Do you refuse to participate, living by your principles and giving high-minded free passes to left-wingers who commit speech crimes? Or do you insist THEY get canceled and ruined too, forcing them to play by their own rules?

During the Tea Party years, its activists were sometimes attacked as hypocrites if they used any benefits of the Leviathan State they claimed to oppose. Collect a single dollar of government benefits, and you supposedly lost the moral stature to rail against deficit spending.

From these examples and many others, conservatives must learn that we are not criticizing the system from the outside – we are within it, and must fight on the very hostile economic and political battlefield that has been created for us.

We are not at the beginning of a great drama about the relationship between people and the State – we’re well past curtain call on the third act, and things are looking very grim for those who value liberty and tradition. The Right played no role in writing the script.

We are not having a spirited discussion with the Left about how to steer the ship of the State. The ship’s crew is entirely against us, most of the compartments are locked, and you’ll be thrown overboard if you say anything about the rapidly approaching iceberg.

We have already watched totalitarianism consume a thoroughly demoralized and destabilized American society. Now we are watching totalitarianism slide inexorably into authoritarianism, and you know what comes after that. We cannot stop that process by politely objecting to it.

It’s not easy to fight a battle on those terms without losing sight of peacetime principles. For generations now, the American people have been bludgeoned into submission by Alinsky tactics that turn their lofty principles and beloved traditions against them.

The barbarians camped outside the gates sneered and said, “If you were so civilized, you wouldn’t need walls and gates to keep us out.” And so the gates were opened and the walls torn down… to be replaced by higher, uglier prison walls built by the victorious invaders.

We’re at the point where people on the Right must think hard about both grand strategy and short-term tactics. We must change the momentum of history before it sweeps this country – and all of the civilized world – into a darkness it cannot escape without fire and bloodshed.

There is no place left for the Gentleman Losers, the directors of Failure Theater, the grifters, the arrogant “remnant” smugly convinced they can emerge from their bunkers one day to thunderous applause for having been right all along.

But there is also no room for fighting blindly, for angrily lashing out to no good purpose, for energy wasted on pointless fights, for vulgar displays that alienate the public and make our situation even worse. The Angry Loser is no more effective than the Gentleman Loser.

We’re not in anything close to a fair ideological fight, and we haven’t been for 30 years or more. It is beyond pointless to keep waiting for nonexistent referees to throw flags on the Left’s ugly plays. Dig in, push back, and gain some yards.

But we have to move in the right direction. We have to run plays that score points. We DO have plenty of opportunities – the American people know something is hideously wrong with the world the Left has made. Even the pandemic has not completely subdued them.

How do you speak to a people desperate for brave leadership, when half the words you would use to reach them have been forbidden? How do you sell liberty to people terrorized into hating each other and believing they can’t get through a single day without help from the State?

It certainly is difficult. It’s hard to fight an utterly unprincipled adversary without compromising a few of your own. If your end goal is liberty, it’s not easy to plan ruthlessly effective strategies for gaining and using power. The State doesn’t want YOU to control it.

Various elements of the Right have a lot of off-ramps for opting out of that difficult struggle – from GOP Establishment types making profitable accommodations with the Left, to preppers and revolution fantasists who assume all is lost and plan for the day after utter collapse.

If you’re still in the game, if you really still believe it can be won, you must be prepared to get dirty, get roughed up, pick battles worth fighting, and accept the sad necessity of bending those principles until the day they are no longer fatal weaknesses.

But also you must not become lost in corruption. You must not become what you fight against. Never believe the instruments of utter darkness can be used for good ends in righteous hands – that’s the delusion that swallowed the Left whole. It’s not easy, but it’s necessary. /end

This country will not be put right until…

-Our elites stop hating the civilization they inherited.

–Abstinence before marriage and marriage itself becomes the norm.

–People want more children rather than fewer.

–Government is seen primarily as the guarantor of liberty rather than a distributer of goods and services.

–The national debt is paid down, rather than added to.

–Universities are systematically deprogressivized (like Germany was denazified after WWII).

–The national media is laughed out of existence.

–Mental illness is no longer a civil right.

–Public schools stop hiding the atrocities committed by commies.

–People stop proposing a government fix for every freakin’ problem that comes along.

–Unless of course, the fix is to repeal one or more laws already on the books.

–Term limits for every federal, state, and local office.

–Commies show up as bad guys in movies just as often as Nazis.

–The ugly, the perverse, and the bizarre are no longer celebrated or glorified.

–Massive social changes are not undertaken solely for the sake of a few outliers.

–We once again learn to value and protect the innocence of children.

–Looters are shot.

–People fear the imposition of government rather than love it.

–The social status of actors and other mass-market entertainers is substantially reduced.

–The idea that America needs to be “fundamentally transformed” is met with scorn and contemp

Do You Remember…

That in the Spring of 2016 Donald Trump was just elected President and the Republican Party controled BOTH the House of Representatives and the Senate.

So much could have been accomplished, but they preferred their privilages and perks over fighting for America and freedom.

“If you will not fight for right when you can easily win without blood shed;
if you will not fight when your victory is sure and not too costly; you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds against you and only a precarious chance of survival. There may even be a worse case. You may have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to perish than to live as slaves.”
Winston Churchill

Needless to say the Republican Party failed miserably. They were cowards…and many were complicit.

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron’s cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.C. S. Lewis

The greatest evils in the world will not be carried out by men with guns, but by men in suits sitting behind desks C. S. Lewis

Thanks to State Supream Courts and SCOTUS choosing to not even “look” at the evidence, either out of abject fear of the mob or political bias America as founded is on the brink of extinction.

Once, under the wise rule of the Senate and the protection of the Jedi Knights the Constitution, the American Republic throve and grew. But as often happens when wealth and power pass beyond the admirable and attain the awesome, there appear those evil ones who have greed to match.

So it was with the (American) Republic at its height. Like the greatest of trees, able to withstand any external attack, the (American) Republic rotted from within though the danger was not visible from outside.

Aided and abetted by restless, power-hungry individuals within the government, and the massive organs of commerce, the ambitious Senator Palpatine Joe Biden caused himself to be elected President of the (American) Republic. He promised to reunite the disaffected among the people and to restore the remembered glory of the Republic.

Once secure in office he declared himself Emperor Ruler, shutting himself away from the populace. Soon he was controlled by the very assistants and boot-lickers he had appointed to high office, and the cries of the people for justice did not reach his ears.

Having exterminated overwhelmed through treachery and deception the Jedi Knights, guardians of justice in the galaxy the 75 to 80 million people who voted for Trump, the Imperial governors and bureaucrats prepared to institute a reign of terror among the disheartened worlds people of the galaxy Red States . Many used the imperial forces FBI, BLM, Antifa and the name of the increasingly isolated Emperor President to further their own personal ambitions.

But a small number of people and States rebelled at these new outrages. Declaring themselves opposed to the New (World) Order they began the great battle to restore the Old (American) Republic.

We all know how this movie turned out. We can only pray that Amerca’s future will have a similar ending. We can only hope.

Dark times are coming for America

This video is about 30 minutes long. I know most people have short attention spans, but these are not normal times and I would encourage that you watch the whole thing.

You never know, even a little pissant blog like mine might be censored soon.

America today!

I will never give another penny to the Republican party ever again. With few exceptions a bunch of cowards who loved their privilages far more then their country. They stabbed President Donald Trump in the back.

It was a Coup!

I’m glad I’m old and that I likely won’t be around to witness my country flushed down the toilet.

May God bless President Donald Trump and his entire family.

He deserved so much better.

What I said about the Vice President….

Nevermind.

2021 sucks already!

As I pointed out before, this procedure is a dead end because electors certified by states are counted unless an objection is upheld by both houses of Congress. Since Democrats control the House of Representatives, there is no chance that an objection to a state certified for Biden would be upheld. Maybe there are other political reasons for invoking this procedure — Democrats did it in January 2005 to challenge Bush electors — but no one should think this will change the election outcome. Not even Hawley seems to think that, as his statement makes clear he’s seeking a debate on election integrity or lack thereof in the 2020 election.

That Hawley and Republicans are invoking the statute should put to rest the claim that some have raised that the statute no longer governs because one congress cannot bind a future congress. If that is the case then it’s actually worse for Trump (or any challenger) because the Constitution provides no means of objecting — the certified votes must be counted.

A claim has circulated widely in the past few days that Vice President Mike Pence, as President of the Senate, has the power and discretion to reject certifications. If Pence had such power and chose to exercise it, it would be over, but he doesn’t

So apparently unless the (Republican controled) state legislatures in the contested states act decisively very soon (and I’m not holding my breath) America’s best days may be only seen in the rearview mirror.

It was a coup!
