The Tunbridge fair is (was) in September!!!
Overnight camps for kids have been closed for this summer. This particular one holds a special place in my heart, but what else could they have done under the circumstances.
As with certain other States Vermont has placed restrictions on travel until at least the middle of June. But with the possibilty that restrictions could be extended if our Governor decides they need to be.
Update: Governor Scott turns the spigot a little more.
The country has been through pandemics before, in 1969 it was the Hong kong flu [H3N2] Most anyone over the age of 65 can remember the big event that took place that year, besides the U.S. landing on the moon.
In 2009 we had the Swine Flu [H1N1] pandemic. No lockdown of the nation’s ecomony occured then. Of course the media’s messiah was in power then. Obama had other methods in mind to transform stagnate America’s economy.
But lets cut to the chase, Mainly it’s the Governors of (blue) States (Newsom of California) and (Cumo of New York) in particularthat have other motives besides stopping the spread of COVID-19. In deciding to keep thier citizens in lockdown, (1) they get to indulge their authoritarian fantasies and (2) if they keep the ecomony in the tank it’s hoped that the country will blame President Trump and vote him out of office in favor of a man who has no clue of what’s happening around him most of the time. This is the fantasy scenero of the deep state and the Marxist media.
In other parts of the world it seems that in the Nordic countries and in Japan lockdowns were not very effective.
It’s well know that Phil Scott is a never Trumper. I’m sure that this colors a lot of his decisions.
What will the state of Vermonts ecomony be this fall? Summer is very short, we won’t have long to find out.
