The Morning Report – 2/24/20

Good morning, kids. Start of a new week and the big story is of course Bernie Sanders winning the Nevada Caucuses and by a comfortable margin. It’s still the opening round of the battle for the Democrat nomination and anything’s possible, but the momentum for now is with an aging, Communist bull. After taking, theoretically, Iowa an New Hampshire, it’s on to South Carolina next week and then the massive 14-state Super Tuesday on March 3rd. The Democrat-Media Complex is now in a full-blown panic since, in its estimation, Sanders would not only be crushed by Trump in the general election, but his openly radical, Communist/Socialist agenda – as opposed to the stealth variety pimped by the Democrats for nearly 100 years – will only help struggling Republican candidates, particularly in close Senate races, taint their opponents and ride in on Trump’s coattails.
A few observations: first, Little Big Gulp Mike Bloomberg has spent well over a $250 million in his effort to be the Democrats’ putative “moderate” white knight surefire Trump-slayer and has come up with bupkiss. By the time it’s all over, that figure might well go north of half billion. We’ll see if all that money can buy a nomination, or in the case of the Democrats, help them steal it for him. That leads me to my next point, which is the imminent cleaving in half of the Democrat Party. The seeds of this dissolution were planted decades ago in our classrooms, lecture halls, and even our daycare facilities. The old guard Democrat Party, and that includes Barack Obama, traditionally have taken an incremental approach to overthrowing the nation as founded. Certain crises like the 1929 and 2008 crashes notwithstanding which they never let “go to waste” in pushing the New Deal and “Hope and Change.”
Now, their chickens are coming home to roost. Two or more generations lobotomized into hating the country and everything it stands for see Trump and his phenomenal success as a complete abnegation of everything they believe in, and the Democrat Establishment as either failures or sell-outs in their promises of both getting rid of him and delivering the long-promised, yet never-delivered Socialist “paradise on earth.”
It’s kind of fun to watch people like James Carville, Anderson Cooper and Chris Matthews sound almost – almost – Reaganesque in attacking Bernie Sanders as a crazy Communist who’ll do nothing but destroy the Democrat Party. Bloomberg did himself no favors with his performance in last week’s Las Vegas debate, except his attack on Communism/Socialism was to the point and dead on target. Make no mistake; in no way are any of the aforementioned imbued with any sense of patriotism or love of the country as founded, for if they did, they wouldn’t be liberals/Leftists. But it’s delicious to watch them actually attack Bernie Sanders for policies that they themselves have always supported, just never out in the open, or at the very least with a carefully phrased and crafted message to swindle the low information voter into supporting it. Hoisting themselves on their own petards, so to speak.
Yet, while we’re reveling in the Democrats ripping each other to pieces, one should never lose sight of the fact that Bernie Sanders might be a farshimmelt alta-kocker but his politics and beliefs are both abhorrent and extremely dangerous if he were to ever gain control of the levers of power. We barely survived Obama’s eight-year Reign of Error. The sobering point still remains that even after Bernie, if the DNC cannot steal the nomination from him again, gets beaten by Trump in the general, there are many more just like him. The so-called “moderates” aren’t going to jump ship to the GOP; they will either be purged or drop the masks entirely and go hardcore Left.
And there are still millions of young people who are brain dead true believers, and an educational system that is brainwashing millions more right behind them. That is a recipe for disaster, no matter what Trump does in the next five years. G-d help us
Neil Young hasn’t aged well
Neil Young is definetly a Bernie Bro.

Neil Young plans to keep on resistin’ in the free world. Just weeks after the Canadian rocker officially became a dual citizen of the United States as well, he’s penned an excoriating letter to Donald Trump, calling him “a disgrace to my country” and endorsing Bernie Sanders for president.
Seems Neil Young (now 74) plans to keep on Rocking till he reaches room temperture.
I first listened to Neil Young in 1966. He was in the Buffalo Springfield. I was at a friends house where I smoked this gummy stuff that a friend of his older brother had brought back from overseas. For years afterword I was a big fan of his music and his persona. So many times in my own privacy I would rip out “Cinnamon Girl” on my air guitar. He was Grunge before there was Grunge.
The very last CD I ever purchased (of any artist) was Silver and Gold way back in the year 2000. It was mostly a collection of love songs to his the 3rd wife Pegi. I bought it because it reflected how I was feeling about my wife and the family we were raising together so late in our lives. Young unceremoniously dumped her after 36 years of marriage in 2014. She died of cancer in 2019.
Neil recently became a U.S. citizen. In his “excoriatung” letter to President Trump he told hin in no uncertain terms not to use his song “Rocking in the Free World”. Like Springsteen’s “Born in the U.S.A.” if you listen to the lyrics it’s in no way a song about American exceptionalism. Coming out during the administration of H.W. Bush he sings of the homeless and the drug addicted, mocking his “thousand points of light”. I do agree that permission should be obtained before an artists song should be used in a political campaign. And just because it’s a rocking song and the chorus sounds pro-American is no excuse not to read all the lyrics.
Neil Young like Springsteen make music popular enough that people buy it in quanities that has made him a millionaire many times over. Enough to insulate him from the reality that California is #4 in the income gap between rich and poor. That cities like San Francisco have become actual shitholes, homelessness is at an all time high, illegal aliens have more rights then American citizens. And guess what Neil, California is ruled by your far left Democrats. You’re blinded by an ideology that because of your wealth and celebrity status you’re totally immune to its consequences.
Old age is unavoidable, but growing old filled with hate will turn a person at any age very ugly both inside and out.
Neil hasn’t spoken to David Crosby ever since he dissed his new squeeze. Crosby for his part would like to get CSN&Y back together simply because of their mutual hatred of Donald Trump. And to go on tour in support of Bolshevik Bernie.

Remember that Bernie is a 78 year old man who has recently suffered a heart attack. And he was just about to introduce his wife “The next first lady”.
At one time dairy farming in Vermont was as iconic as maple syrup. In the recent past Bernie always took the side of dairy farmers in lobbying for higher milk prices.
But cows fart greenhouse gas. Milliennails are turning to alternatives, oat milk, almond milk and soy. Two major dairy producers already have had to file for bankruptcy. As it is cows are disappearing and former pastures are being filled with solar panels.
And Bernie is now committed to the Green New Deal which means that he has no choice but to throw (Vermont) dairy farmers under the bus.
His own supporters have no respect for him. But crazy Uncle Bernie is promising to give out a lot of free stuff and that’s all that counts.
