The “Wise Old Owl” and the Timid Old Mouse.

Being a one party state has not been unique for the State of Vermont.

For nearly 100 years after the Civil War,  up until 1962 Vermont was a bedrock for the Republican Party.  The “Party of Lincoln”.  Up until the 1950’s the only division was that the Republican Party itself had divided into “conservative and liberal wings.

George Akin, Republican Governor 37-41.  34  years as a Senator from 41-75. He was a progressive Republican.

It was during Nixon’s first term concerning the Vietnam war that he stated…(paraphrasing) ‘declare victory and get out’.
He spent $17.04 on his last reelection campaign.  He was the Dean of the Senate.  And like many Republicans then and now was often not in lockstep with his own party’s stated agenda.
Vermont’s transition from Red to blue continued when in 1975 Pat Leahy was elected to fill the retiring Akin’s seat.

Leahy2009.jpg  1975 – present

He is now the “Dean of the Senate.  He is a solid Liberal, a Catholic in name only, Batman movie extra, and a Democrat party apparatchik.
He saw where the wind was blowing. In Vermont and his political party. All the boxes are checked. Pro-choice abortion, against school vouchers, favors increased taxes and minimum wage, pro unions,  in favor of gun control, all in on the climate change scam etc.
He’s also believes in a “Living Constitution”
Senators Chuck Schumer and Patrick Leahy claimed that newly confirmed Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch was not in the “legal mainstream.” They were referring to the “living Constitution” approach to constitutional interpretation. That interpretative approach, still thriving today and embraced by the liberal left, says that the U.S. Constitution should be a document that judges regard as one “that evolves, changes, over time, and adapts to new circumstances, without being formally amended.”
Pat Leahy knows his Senate seat is secure for as long as he wants it. Vermont is as solidly democrat blue today as it was republican red a long, long time ago.
He has to see what is happening to the Country, apparently he’s fine with it.  One thing Democrats don’t do even when you have the clout of seniority is to question in anyway the Party agenda.
The Democrat Party does not tolerate Mavericks.
Only timid old mice.

A prediction made almost 54 years ago.

I’m old enough to remember Paul Harvey. I’m sure  millennials have no clue.

Remember that just because you don’t believe in [Satan]the devil, Satan certainly believes in you.  He could not care less wither you believe in him or not.  His greatest accomplishment is convincing you he doesn’t exist. And what makes him most happy is that you don’t believe that the other guy exists either.

Today in History, March 5th 1953

The Most Powerful Man of the 20th Century died on this day.  Socialism’s greatest champion.

Dear old Uncle Joe.

The man feared by all. So feared that no one dared enter his room because he ordered them not to without his permission. He laid in a puddle of his own urine for over 12 hours.

But he certainly knew how get thing done.

“The press must grow day in and day out – it is our Party’s sharpest and most powerful weapon”
“To choose one’s victims, to prepare one’s plan minutely, to slake an implacable vengeance, and then to go to bed… There is nothing sweeter in the world.

“Voters decide nothing. Vote counters decide everything!”

“If the opposition disarms, well and good. If it refuses to disarm, we shall disarm it ourselves.”
“Education is a weapon the effect of which is determined by the hands which wield it, by who is to be struck down.”
As we’ve been told we’ve only twelve years to save the planet.
Bernie says that you “cannot go too far to save the planet”.

If only “Uncle Joe ” were alive.  He would be able to “save the planet”.

Remember that a giant of Socialism died this day.

An abortion for any reason.

Right up until birth...

Someday in the near future…

Why my wife and I decided to abort our gay son.

By Steve Lavedas

Well, got the blood work results, and there’s good news and bad news. Good news: It’s a boy and he’s healthy. Bad news: He’s gay. I didn’t even know there was a blood test for that now, but I guess it’s new? They found the genes that cause homosexuality and they test for them now

I’m a really tolerant person, but this has made me think hard. I don’t know how I feel about trying to raise a gay son. Will I be able to relate to him? Won’t his life be super hard? I know things are getting better for gay people, but it seems to me that being gay is really hard in the South in other parts of the country yet.h, where we live. Gay people aren’t really accepted here like in other parts of the country.

My wife told one of her friends that we are going to have an abortion because we don’t feel equipped to deal with raising a gay child. Apparently it got around to some of our gay friends from college. I’ve been getting emails, texts, and IMs all day from them asking me why I’m a homophobe, and why I hate gay people.

I don’t hate gay people! I just can’t bring a child into the world who would have such a hard time. I mean, we’d do the same thing if the fetus had Down syndrome, and so would about 67 percent of others if they found themselves in that situation. Even Richard Dawkins tweeted that it would be immoral to have a child who would suffer because of his genetics. Many people believe it’s immoral to bring a child into the world who is just going to suffer. Ending the pregnancy is just better for everyone. It seems so obvious.

I don’t understand. It’s my wife’s body. It’s her choice, and I agree with it. It’s our choice of what to do with our pregnancy. How can anyone else tell my wife what to do with her body?…

We got to the clinic almost an hour early. They made us sit in the waiting room for a while and finally called us back, but instead of walking us into a table with stirrups like we expected, they escorted us into an office. A man in a lab coat was waiting at a desk.

“I recognize you,” he said, after looking at us sternly for what seemed like an eternity. I didn’t know what to say, so I didn’t say anything. My wife didn’t speak either. “What you are doing should be a hate crime, and I won’t have any part in it,” the man said, looking angry.

“But it’s my body,” my wife said, sounding defiant, but like a little girl too. “It’s my right.”

“It’s hateful,” the doctor responds. “You are terminating this pregnancy because you don’t want a gay child. Are gay children less valuable than straight children?” He sounded like a teacher trying to impart a lesson to a very slow student.

“No, but—” my wife started to say.

“A gay child has just as much value as a straight child. In fact, you are lucky! Gay children are very rare. Census numbers put the number of homosexuals in America at around 3 percent. It wouldn’t take many more people like you,” he nearly spits the words, “to eliminate homosexuality in America. That’s genocide, and I won’t have that on my conscience.

With that, we were ushered out. My wife cried all the way home. When we got there, we found that someone had firebombed our rented townhouse and wrote “Bigotry Doesn’t Belong Here!” and “Love Wins!” in spray paint on the sidewalk. I guess some fetuses are more equal than others, but I can’t understand it. I just followed all the arguments I’ve heard from our society to their logical conclusions.

This story is satire…But we will know at least one State in America where a couple or a woman in this situation will be able to go and get the procedure done not only without government interference but with government protection.

In the Democratic Peoples Republic of Vermont.

The Venezuelan Disaster Explained.

“But Real Socialism has never been tried!”

Says Bernie,  A.O.C. , Fauxcahontas  and every other Democrat who is running for President in 2020.

Has anyone heard from Sean Penn lately?

In March 2010, Penn called for the arrest of those referring to Venezuelan President Hugo Chávez as a dictator.[67] The two were friends, and when Chávez died, Penn said: “Venezuela and its revolution will endure under the proven leadership of Vice President Nicolás Maduro. Today the United States lost a friend it never knew it had. And poor people around the world lost a champion. I lost a friend I was blessed to have.”

Or Danny Glover?

Glover was also a board member of TeleSUR, a media network primarily funded by the Venezuelan government.[48] During the beginning of the 2014 Venezuela Protests, Glover shared his support to Chávez’s successor, President Nicolas Maduro, calling members of his government “the stewards” of Venezuela’s democracy. Glover also told Venezuelan government supporters to go fight for the sovereignty of Maduro’s government.[52] Through the crisis in Bolivarian Venezuela, Glover continued to show his support for the Bolivarian government and President Maduro’s administration
