Bernie feels that billionaires should be taxed at 100%<\/a><\/em><\/h4>\n

{The US government should confiscate 100% of any money that Americans make above $999m, the leftwing independent senator Bernie Sanders<\/a> said late last week. <\/em>Sanders expressed that belief in an exchange on Friday evening with the host of Who\u2019s Talking to Chris Wallace? on HBO Max<\/a>.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Wallace had asked Sanders about the general assertion in his book It\u2019s OK to Be Angry About Capitalism<\/a> that billionaires should not exist. <\/em>\u201cAre you saying that once you get to $999m the government should confiscate all the rest?\u201d Wallace asked the US senator from Vermont<\/a>, who is an independent but caucuses with Democrats and has helped them attain their current slim majority in the upper congressional chamber.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cYeah,\u201d Sanders replied. \u201cYou may disagree with me but, fine, I think people can make it on $999m. I think that they can survive just fine.\u201d}<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Bernie emphasized that it was nothing personal.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

To be fair, Bernie’s net worth of 3 million dollars\u00a0<\/a><\/strong><\/em>he’s not even close to being a 1%, but I wouldn’t call him middle class<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

According to the 2023 Forbes<\/em> \u00a0annual wealthest.<\/em>\u00a0list, the number of billionaires in the world is 2,640. This is a decrease from 2,668 in 2022. The U.S. has more billionaires than any other country: 735.<\/span><\/strong> China, including Hong Kong and Macao, is close behind with 562.6.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

One thing is for sure, the ‘rich’ have long known that voting, donating, and virtue signaling for the Democrat party makes people overlook the fact that you’ve done very well for yourself economically, and have many material possesions. Wither you’ve earned them or not.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n
